What we can do for you and your baby

Antenatal

An antenatal contact with your private health visitor can be booked at any time during your pregnancy.

With the NHS universal service, this antenatal contact is normally booked between 28 and 34 weeks of your pregnancy.

However, you can arrange to see me at any time during your pregnancy.

During this contact, you will have the opportunity to talk about any topic of interest to you; for example:

  • Your birth plan
  • Your feelings about the pregnancy
  • Any worries or concerns you may have
  • Any thoughts or questions you may have about feeding options (you do not have to decide now)
  • How you are bonding with your baby in utero
  • Safe equipment to buy and those to stay clear off.

You will also get to find out in-depth about the services you will be receiving from health visitors and what to expect during each visit.
